Background Documents

This set is meant to provide context for the HREU and SORWUC sets. Background documents include a thematic guide of objects and related metadata of research sources across the fonds. Its role is to assist in historical and archives record analysis and support future researchers. There are summaries of oral histories, descriptions of fonds, researcher notes and articles regarding B.C. labour history and organization; researcher’s notes on Indigenous labour in British Columbia; biographic information of organizers; versions of unpublished book chapters regarding the early period of unionism and the Depression; and a variety of researcher’s notes, including a detailed guide to Vancouver and District Labour Council minutes from 1930 – 1948.
